Shaun Clarida is a native of New Jersey, USA and was a small kid among his classmates. That didn't change later on, when teenagers usually experience their growth spurts. Clarida remained at his current height of 157.5 cm and a weight of 44 kilograms at the time.
He lived out his passion for sports in basketball, wrestling, baseball and gymnastics. Although it was particularly difficult for someone Clarida's size.
Because he became a victim of bullying again and again.
But he didn't let all the negative comments and perceptions of others discourage him from continuing to exercise.
He began weight training in his junior year to get stronger for wrestling and like many smaller people, Clarida has found that building muscle was relatively easy.
Little did young Shaun know back then that he had what it took to be an extremely successful bodybuilder. At a local gym, he crossed paths with a bodybuilder who helped him learn more about the muscle building process.
It was at this point that the love and passion for pro bodybuilding was born.
Shaun Clarida built a lot of muscle and decided to prove himself on the bodybuilding stages.

This is what Shaun Clarida's meal plan for the 2020 Mr Olympia looked like.
Meal 1: Breakfast
Because of his size, Clarida does not typically eat eggs and oatmeal for breakfast. For him, it has to be higher-calorie foods.
- 200 g white jasmine rice

200 g ground beef with a little breadcrumbs and sugar-free ketchup
Meal 2:
- 200 grams of white rice
- 200 g ground turkey
Meal 3: Before training
Clarida takes his pre-workout meal about an hour and a half before the workout. He doesn't like training on a full stomach. Therefore, there is the easily digestible food like oatmeal.
- 140 grams of oats
- 60 g protein shake (whey isolate and casein)
- amino acids
- carbohydrates
Meal 4 and 5: Post workout
Immediately after a workout, Clarida has a whey protein shake as this is a fast-digesting source of muscle-building nutrients.

- 70 grams of carbohydrates
One hour after the workout, Clarida eats a post-workout meal, which usually consists of pasta.
Post-workout food
- 300 grams of pasta
- 200 grams of minced meat
Meal 6
The last meal before bed.

Weight gainer allows him to consume many calories in liquid form, which is easier for many people to digest.
Clarida makes sure he gets 8-10 hours of sleep a night, which is ideal for a hard-training athlete. Adequate recovery is an essential part of recovery and progress.
